Falana, speaking over the weekend, said the grievances raised by NUPENG should not be ignored, stressing that the rights of workers must be respected in line with labour laws. He accused powerful business interests of exploiting workers and urged the government to ensure fairness in the oil and gas sector.
He specifically asked the authorities to call Aliko Dangote to order, insisting that no individual or company should operate above the law. According to him, protecting the dignity of workers is essential to safeguarding the country’s democracy and economy.
NUPENG has threatened strike action over alleged unfair practices, raising concerns that fuel supply could be disrupted nationwide. Falana urged all parties to embrace dialogue but maintained that workers’ rights must not be compromised.
