The programme, unveiled on Friday by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, will make fertilizer more accessible to rural farmers ahead of the next planting season.
Officials said the initiative is designed to ease the impact of inflation on the agricultural sector, improve crop yields and strengthen national food security.
Farmers’ associations have welcomed the move but urged the government to ensure transparent distribution so that the subsidy reaches genuine beneficiaries.
