INEC Engages Stakeholders on Voter Registration in Katsina

INEC Commissioner Yahaya Makarfi said the meeting focused on voter education, logistics and crowd management to ensure a smooth process. He explained that the registration, which began on August 18, will run until August 30.

Head of Voter Education in Katsina, Ibrahim Hashim, noted that the state already has more than 3.5 million registered voters. He said the exercise is open to citizens who just turned 18, those who missed previous registration, and Nigerians returning from abroad.

The CVR also allows voters to transfer polling units, correct details, or replace lost and damaged voter cards. Registration is taking place at the INEC state office and all 34 local government offices.
