The agreement was reached during a meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, and Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, in Abuja on Thursday.
Both sides pledged to collaborate on programmes that address food insecurity, youth empowerment and social welfare, with a focus on lifting vulnerable populations out of poverty.
The minister welcomed China’s support, noting that stronger partnerships would boost the federal government’s drive to reduce hardship and promote inclusive growth.
Ambassador Cui reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nigeria in tackling humanitarian challenges and advancing sustainable development.
