The state command’s spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday. She explained that the changes followed a review of persistent security challenges and operational gaps in several troubled local government areas.
The new Area Commands are located in Daudu and Naka. The stations in Ayilamo, Yelwata, Jato-Aka, Okpokolo and Agan have now been upgraded to full Divisional Headquarters.
Edet also noted that the Commissioner of Police acknowledged the support of Governor Hyacinth Alia, whose contributions, she said, have strengthened the command’s ability to safeguard lives and property.
