The platform, developed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria with support from the UK-funded Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria, was launched on Monday in Abuja.
Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, described the initiative as a turning point in teacher management. She noted that the portal would simplify registration, ensure transparent licensing, provide access to professional development, and enhance accountability.
“In a world where nations compete through skills and creativity, Nigeria must embrace digital tools to build the future we aspire to,” she said.
Senior Education Adviser at the British High Commission, Ian Attfield, welcomed the project, stressing the need to train and motivate teachers across different school systems, including faith-based and low-cost private schools. He reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s education reforms.
